Tour de France 2025: the last 10 winners of the Tour de France

Since its creation in 1903, the Tour de France has seen the triumph of numerous cyclists with very different styles. Over the past ten years, names like Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard have emerged and left their mark on the race. Here's a look back at the last ten riders to win the Tour de France.
2024: Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates)
A hat trick for Pogacar. By winning six stages and taking the yellow jersey on the fourth stage, Pogacar won the Tour de France for the third time, cementing his dominance. Vingegaard wasn't far behind, finishing second, just 6 minutes and 17 seconds behind, just months after suffering a major crash that punctured his lung.
2023: Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma)
And two for the Dane. And this time, there wasn't really a match. While the two men were within seconds of each other during the first two weeks, Vingegaard then stunned Pogacar in the final stages, in the Combloux time trial and at the Col de la Loze.
2022: Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma)
This time, it was Dane Jonas Vingegaard who took the lead and won the duel between the two leaders of the peloton. He finished 2:43 seconds ahead of Pogacar. Geraint Thomas, once again, completed the podium.
2021: Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates)
The Slovenian doubled his lead in 2021 by winning his second Tour de France ahead of Jonas Vingegaard. He once again won three jerseys: the yellow jersey, the white jersey for best young rider, and the jersey for best climber.
2020: Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates)
Pogacar (UAE Emirates) shattered Bernal's record by winning the Tour de France at the age of 21, after beating Primoz Roglic in the final time trial. It was a resounding victory, as he finished in Paris with all three jerseys (the yellow jersey, the red polka-dot jersey for best climber, and the white jersey for best young rider).
2019: Egan Bernal (Ineos Grenadiers)
The 22-year-old Colombian took advantage of Thibaut Pinot's withdrawal to win his first Tour de France, ahead of the tireless Geraint Thomas. He became the youngest winner of the Tour de France, along with Pogacar, and the first Colombian to win.
2018: Geraint Thomas (Sky)
Another winner for Team Sky. Geraint Thomas succeeds Froome (who finished 3rd) and thus becomes the first Welshman to achieve this feat. Dutchman Tom Dumoulin finishes 2nd.
2017: Christopher Froome (Sky)
Froome has won his third consecutive race. But this time, he didn't win a single stage and won the Tour de France by being the most consistent. Romain Bardet finished on the podium once again, in third place, behind Colombian Rigoberto Uran.
2016: Christopher Froome (Sky)
Another victory for the Briton. The Sky leader has dominated the Tour de France by a wide margin, finishing more than 4 minutes ahead of Frenchman Romain Bardet (AG2R La Mondiale) and Nairo Quintana.
2015: Christopher Froome (Sky)
This second Tour victory, after the one in 2013, makes Froome (Sky) the first British rider to win the famous race twice. He won after just over 84 hours of racing and left his mark on the Tour de France.
