Serie A: PSG's future opponent, Inter, still believes in the title after the draw in Naples

Before facing PSG in the Champions League final, Inter Milan beat Torino in the 36th round of Serie A. The Nerazzurri are now one point behind Napoli, who were held to a draw by Genoa.
Suspense rekindled? Inter Milan have not yet given up on the Italian championship title: winners against Torino (2-0) on Sunday, PSG's future opponent in the Champions League final , are now only one point behind Naples, upset at home by Genoa (2-2).
On Tuesday, they booked their place in the sixth Champions League final in their history after a semi-final second leg against FC Barcelona (4-3 aet). On Sunday, they came back to within one point of leaders Napoli, with two matches remaining in the season. Despite their draw, Napoli, leading Serie A with 78 points, will have their first shot at the title next weekend. If they win in Parma and if Inter (2nd, 77 pts) lose to Lazio, the scudetto will return to Naples for the fourth time after 1987, 1990, and 2023.
If both teams meet with the same result, we'll have to wait until the 38th and final matchday on May 25th to find out the name of the 2025 champion. And that might not be enough. If they're tied with the same number of points, Napoli and Inter will have to play a replay, a scenario that has only occurred once before in the history of the Italian league, in 1964.
Things had started well on Sunday for the Neapolitans, who quickly opened the scoring through Romelu Lukaku (15th minute). But Genoa, assured of their survival and therefore with nothing left to play for, did not lose heart and equalized through a header from 17-year-old Italian prodigy Honest Ahanor, which was pushed back into his own net by Alex Meret (32nd minute). In the 64th minute, Napoli regained the lead through Giacomo Raspadori, but Johan Vásquez leveled the scores (84th minute) and revived the championship.
" They had two shots on target, they scored twice. It saddens me because we should have won this match for everything we showed, but that's football ," explained Antonio Conte, the " very bitter " Napoli coach. " We've used up our wild card, we just have to win our last two matches ," he insisted.
If the Neapolitan fans had hoped that Inter would still be tired from their stunning victory against FC Barcelona (4-3 aet) or that they would already have their minds set on the final on May 31 against PSG, they were quickly disillusioned. Despite a violent thunderstorm that briefly stopped the match and extended the half for more than thirty minutes, the Nerazzurri won at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin thanks to a goal from Nicola Zalewski (14th) and a penalty from Kristjan Asllani (49th).
Simone Inzaghi had fielded a reserve team, without Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram or Yann Sommer, with no fewer than nine changes compared to the one that had disgusted Barça on Tuesday evening at Giuseppe Meazza.
" After Tuesday night's 120 minutes, I had some concerns before facing this well-organized Torino, who had gone nine straight home games without defeat ," admitted Inzaghi. " We played a solid, clear-headed performance, but our work isn't done yet ," warned the Italian coach, who notched his 100th league win at the helm of Inter.
