Saint-Brieuc - PSG (0-7): triple scorer, Gonçalo Ramos has gained confidence

The Portuguese scored the first hat-trick of his career in a PSG jersey on Wednesday evening. The striker was able to demonstrate his qualities as a starter after having done so off the bench in recent weeks.
By Adrien Chantegrelet , special correspondent in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine)"Amen!" After saying all the good things he thought of Gonçalo Ramos on Tuesday at noon in a press conference, Luis Enrique did not seek to add anything this Wednesday evening, in the wake of the qualification obtained against Saint-Brieuc, in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France . Questioned on the performance of his Portuguese striker (23 years old), author of a hat-trick, the first of his career with PSG , the Spanish technician simply let slip this formula consisting of expressing assent and his support.
The Parisian coach was right the day before the match when he said that the former Benfica player was important in every minute played. More used to taking advantage of the crumbs offered to him when he comes off the bench, the "super sub" Gonçalo Ramos demonstrated that he was also capable of expressing his qualities when he is brought in to start a match as a starter, something that had not happened to him since February 4th in Le Mans.
If the identity of the opponent, a National 2 club, invites us not to fall into "flaming passion" or to make the number 9 the new strong man of the Parisian attack, the Portuguese at least had the merit of honoring the new hand extended by Luis Enrique by being of a formidable efficiency. Author of two remarkable entries against Brest (a goal, an assist) and Lyon, with each time classy gestures to the key, Ramos continued his momentum and confirmed his good pass.
"The key was to be attentive and then wait for the spaces to open up. We did that in a very good way," said the triple scorer after the match. "It is very important to score a lot of goals because it gives us a lot of confidence. Today I scored goals and made assists. I played my game."
For once, the former Benfica player managed to blend in wonderfully with this seasoned Parisian collective and quickly stand out. While the PSG staff has often noticed his ability to be more comfortable at the end of matches and noted his difficulties in standing out against grouped blocks when he starts matches, "the pistolero" has this time found the right carburation.
After a first header pushed away by the goalkeeper on a corner (8th), he scored like a true fox in the box by being on the rebound of a good cross from Mayulu (36th). The Portuguese was hungry for goals and his coach was clearly keen to see him increase his statistics since he himself designated his number 9 to go and take the penalty after the break while several of his teammates also wanted to take their responsibilities. Ramos transformed his attempt with serenity (49th) before showing the same efficiency when he came to deceive the Saint-Brieuc goalkeeper with a first-time shot (58th).
In the space of 22 minutes, the number 9 came to plant a hat-trick that slams and recalls a performance not so far away achieved with his selection during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Ramos had already scored a hat-trick achieved in just 40 minutes, during an 8th final won against Switzerland (6-1).
His performance tonight is in any case a testament to his goal-scoring skills and a certain skill. With 12 goals scored in 23 games played, including 9 as a starter, Ramos has consolidated his position as the third best Parisian shooter. Above all, he has an exceptional ratio of 1.2 goals scored every 90 minutes, doing even better thanOusmane Dembélé (1.07). At this rate, it's hard not to imagine him beating his record from the previous season and thus doing better than the 14 goals he scored during his first season in the capital... Enough to prove Luis Enrique right and his theory of four players with more than twelve goals.
