Paragolf: Around thirty paragolfers expected on the Périgord greens

For four years now, the Périgueux golf course has hosted a prestigious competition: the International Paragolf Grand Prix.
Around thirty people will be competing this weekend on the greens of the Périgueux golf course. This Saturday, September 13th and Sunday, September 14th, the International Paragolf Grand Prix will be coming to the Dordogne. For this fifth edition, Périgueux is preparing to welcome the elite of paragolfers.
Since 2021, this competition has continued to grow in popularity, to the point where it is now part of the international circuit. It offers the opportunity to earn valuable world ranking points alongside the EDGA (European Disabled Golf Association).
Big names will be presentThis weekend, 37 people will be coming from all over France, "including more than fifteen in the first series and several members of the French team," rejoices Monique Persigand of the handigolf commission of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine League, before confirming: last year's winner, Manuel de Los Santos, professional at the Paris Country Club, will indeed be there. All the people of Périgord still remember his score, +2 on Saturday, 0 on Sunday, underlines Monique Persigand. Two days of sport and diversity await us. Only golf, where everyone plays by the same rules, can offer such a spectacle!
More than 30 able-bodied golfers have already registered and will be sharing Saturday's rounds with them. Around twenty volunteers, club golfers, will be at their posts all weekend on the course (commissioners, caddies, etc.). Rounds will begin at 9 a.m. Admission is free.
