Ligue 1: Stéphanie Frappart appointed as referee for OM - Nantes on Sunday

Following the virulent remarks made by Marseille president Pablo Longoria regarding refereeing after a defeat at Auxerre, the FFF has chosen Stéphanie Frappart to referee OM - Nantes this Sunday (8:45 p.m.) at the Stade Vélodrome.
By Le ParisienThree days after Marseille president Pablo Longoria's media statement on refereeing, Stéphanie Frappart was appointed this Tuesday by the French Federation to officiate the Ligue 1 match between Olympique de Marseille and FC Nantes next Sunday at the Stade Vélodrome (8:45 p.m.).
The OM president's comments last Saturday after the defeat (3-0) in Auxerre towards the refereeing, pronouncing the word "corruption" , caused a lot of turmoil in the world of football. Pablo Longoria, who then made his mea culpa on Monday - "The form was not appropriate and I regret this word" - will be heard by the disciplinary committee this Wednesday and will know his possible sanction, which could be up to 12 weeks, that same evening.
The appointment of the next referee to officiate an OM match was therefore particularly anticipated. The FFF decided on Tuesday to appoint Stéphanie Frappart (41 years old) for this match on the 24th day of Ligue 1. An experienced referee (fifth season in Ligue 1), having managed the Marseille club twelve times (8 OM victories, 3 draws and 1 defeat). The last time was during Toulouse - Marseille, on August 31, 2024, with a victory for the Olympians and the expulsion of Toulouse's Frank Magri in the 27th minute.
Stéphanie Frappart will be assisted by Mikael Berchebru and Cédric Favre. Aurélien Petit will play the role of fourth referee while Alexandre Castro and Julien Schmitt will be on video.
