Ironman World Championship: How to drive and park in Nice this Sunday

Traffic will be disrupted this Sunday, September 14, 2025, during the Ironman World Championship. Numerous traffic restrictions will apply in Nice. It is recommended to use the tramway, the Mathis route, and the A8 motorway to cross the city.

The Promenade des Anglais closed to trafficThe Promenade des Anglais will be closed to traffic between Nice Airport and the Albert I Gardens until 5 a.m. on Monday, September 15.
All perpendicular axes providing access to the Promenade des Anglais, between Avenue des Grenouillères and Boulevard Gambetta, are closed off (residents are served by internal roads).
Traffic is also prohibited between the Quai des États-Unis and Rauba-Capeù until Monday, September 15 at 5 a.m.
Limited access to Old NiceUntil 5 a.m. this Monday, access to Old Nice will be limited, with one entrance and one exit from Boulevard Jean-Jaurès. The Crotti descent will be open at all times, and an exit via the Auguste-Escoffier descent will also be possible.
The airport is accessible via the riverside road or the M6007
Access to the airport must only be via the M6007 or the M99 embankment road (Digue des Français).
Highway exit 51 is recommended for getting to the airport.
Modified conditions for parking in car parksAll city parking lots remain open. Only those near the race route will undergo some changes until 5 a.m. this Monday.
Le Rhul Méridien: entrance via Avenue de Suède and exit possible at all times.
The Palais de la Méditerranée: access closed, exit via rue du Congrès made two-way.
The Sulzer: access closed, exit will be via rue Saint-François-de-Paule.
Palais Masséna: Access and exit via the Promenade des Anglais are closed. Access and exit will be in alternating directions via Rue de France.
The Saint-Laurent-du-Var shopping center will remain open all day.
To get there from Cannes, take exit 47 – Villeneuve-Loubet –, then the Nationale 7 to Saint-Laurent station. From Monaco, take exit 52 – Saint-Isidore –, then the M202 and M6007 (Pont Napoléon-III) to Saint-Laurent station.
Finally, to leave Cap 3000, it is recommended to take the diversion via avenues Léon-Béranger, France d'Outremer then Frédéric-Mistral to join the M6007 towards the A8.
Access via the M95D will remain closed.
