Football: VAR makes its debut for the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France

Video assistance to referees will be implemented during the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France scheduled from this Tuesday, and for all matches up to the final.
By Le ParisienVideo assistance to referees is making its debut this Tuesday, February 25 and Wednesday, February 26 for the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France. Absent from the competition until now, VAR will take advantage of this round to come into play, thus allowing all clubs to benefit from the same refereeing conditions, as in Ligue 1 , to hope to reach the last four of the competition.
Since the 2017-2018 season, VAR has had to wait until the quarter-finals for it to intervene in the Coupe de France. This technology is supposed to facilitate the work of the central referee who can count on additional images to make the right decision in certain specific cases.
The quarter-finals start this Tuesday at 9pm with Angers (L1)-Reims (L1) and Cannes (N2)-Guingamp (L2). The other two matches will take place this Wednesday. Brest will host Dunkerque (L2) at 7pm, while the amateurs of Saint-Brieuc (N2) will challenge PSG at Roazhon Park in Rennes (Wednesday, 9pm).
The system (VAR) will be implemented in all matches until the final scheduled for Saturday May 24 at the Stade de France.
