Football, Regional 2 women: Trélissac seems ready to play the comeback

Joined by Sarlat-Marcillac in R2, the Trélissacoises seem to have the means to play the very first roles there. They are coming off a good second half of the season.
For the Périgord region, this is rather good news. The promotion of Sarlat-Marcillac, champion of the Départemental 1, brings a third team to the regional level. At the same time, this further strips the Dordogne – Lot-et-Garonne interdistrict championship, which, with only six teams (including four from Périgord), no longer resembles much. Especially since Port-Sainte-Marie-Feugarolles has already been ruled out!
Far from all that, the Trélissacoises will begin this Sunday (3 p.m.), on their synthetic pitch, their second season in Regional 2. Perhaps the last given the composition of Group B. Because the TFC, after having digested its relegation from R1, is one of the natural contenders for promotion, along with Pôle palois, last in the regional elite last season, and Eysines. The suburban Bordeaux team remains, in fact, in third place in R2 behind Bayonne and Saint-Médard-de-Guizières, who have been promoted. But they only beat Trélissac on goal difference.
Big preparationHaving narrowly missed out on the podium, Laurie Boyer's players are naturally keen to do better this season. They have been preparing for this, with numerous friendly matches since August 20, against Saint-Pantaléon-de-Larche (R2, Group A, in Trélissac), Blagnac (R2 d'Occitanie, in Montignac), Soyaux (R1, in Charente), Montbazens-Rignac (R2 d'Occitanie, in Antonne) and Saint-Médard-de-Guizières last Sunday in Trélissac. Most of them were won, like the last one, just to build confidence before starting the championship against the promoted Bouscatais.
Meanwhile, the Sarladaises will travel to the Gradignan reserve team to discover the Regional 2. The Bergeracoises will also be away, to Limoges. A difficult start for a team accustomed to R1 competition.
