Feat in Chamonix: Benjamin Védrines' solo ascent

Benjamin Védrines is alone facing the little Drus in the Alps . He barely has time to contemplate an impressive landscape. The kilometer-high granite peak that the mountaineer is climbing is particularly unstable because the rock is crumbly. After years of landslides, the wall has been completely redrawn. It is therefore a first, like a whiteboard to decipher. “ Having a completely virgin section of the mountain allows you to experience the adventures that the old mountaineers had. There was everything to do, everything to achieve,” explains the climber.
Five days of climbing and four nights of rest, the comfort is basic. After 15 years on the highest peaks of this earth, it is a unique challenge for Benjamin Védrines. Alone in the difficulty, he is also alone to contemplate spectacular landscapes. For someone who explains that he does not have much confidence in himself, we can say that he has made progress to reach the summit.
