Cycling, Tour du Limousin-Périgord-Nouvelle-Aquitaine: Vendrame wins the sprint, Costiou wins the race

Andrea Vendrame (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale) won the fourth and final stage of the 58th edition of the Tour du Limousin-Périgord-Nouvelle-Aquitaine this Friday, ahead of his teammate Paul Lapeira. Ewen Costiou (Arkéa-B & B Hôtels) wins the overall classification and succeeds Alex Baudin on the race list.
Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale clearly wanted to make up for its early performance in the Tour du Limousin-Périgord-Nouvelle-Aquitaine. After Paul Lapeira on Thursday, it was the Italian Andrea Vendrame who won the fourth and final stage between Saint-Hilaire-Bonneval and Limoges on Friday.
A young winnerThe French team was in the thick of things all day, starting with Noa Isidore, who took the best breakaway and almost fought for victory in Limoges, with Alexy Faure-Prost (Intermarché Wanty). But the group of favorites decided otherwise and the last kilometer was fatal for them, the two men being caught less than 500 meters from the finish line. Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale did not let itself be beaten and made its sprinters speak. Andrea Vendrame was therefore the fastest and took his second victory of the year. The French team saved its Tour du Limousin-Périgord-Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
The one who pulled it off perfectly was Breton rider Ewan Costiou of Arkéa-B & B Hôtels, who won the event, succeeding Alex Baudin on the list of winners. This is his second professional victory after a stage in the Tour du Pays de la Loire last year. The most combative rider of the 7th stage of the 2025 Tour de France, 22-year-old Costiou has made his mark and confirmed his good form.
