Copa del Rey: Griezmann's Atlético Madrid snatches a draw from Barcelona in a crazy, crazy, crazy match

As is often the case, this duel between Barça and Atlético turned out to be rich in goals and twists. A completely crazy scenario... FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid parted with a draw ( 4-4 ), this Tuesday, in Monjuic, in the first leg of the Spanish Cup semi-final .

After only ten minutes of play, the Colchoneros led 2-0. Vexed, the Catalans reacted to lead 4-2. Gonzalez (19th), Cubarsi (21st), Martinez (41st) and Lewandowski (74th) found the back of the net for Barça. Note that Antoine Griezmann took part in the party by scoring the second (6th) of the four goals of the Matelassiers. The other three by Alvarez (1st), Llorente (84th) and finally Sorloth (90th + 3).

It was the latter - as in December when Diego Simeone's men came to win (1-2) in Catalonia, in La Liga, in the final seconds - who snatched the equalizer at the end of added time. A match where, once again, the Rojiblancos proved their ability to come back from the dead, while the Blaugranas had plenty of room to score a fifth goal in order to bury, for good, Madrid's hopes.

Atlético never dies (really) and knew, as usual, how to rise from the ashes to spoil the Catalan evening. Hansi Flick's players can really blame themselves and do not count a good operation before the return. The victory and the (very) good result before the second leg were within their reach. The two teams will meet again, therefore, on April 2 to fight it out one last time with the final in their sights. In the meantime, they will face each other on March 16 for the Spanish championship, for, perhaps, a new spectacular clash decisive in the race for the title.
