The French women's boxing team has been deprived of the World Championships, which take place from September 4 to 14, because the results of the required gender tests could not be submitted in time. These tests, also implemented by the French Athletics Federation, were introduced in the name of fairness and have not met with unanimous approval.

"It is with astonishment and indignation that the French team staff learned that French female boxers would not be able to participate in the first world championships organized by the International Boxing Federation (World Boxing)." In a terse statement, the French Boxing Federation (FFBoxe) announced on Wednesday the forced withdrawal of Romane Moulai, Wassila Lkhadiri, Melissa Bounoua, Sthélyne Grosy and Maëlys Richol from the World Championships, which are being held from September 4 to 14 in Liverpool, United Kingdom. The cause: the delay in the results of the gender test of the five athletes, made mandatory by World Boxing, who organizes the event.
