Ballon d'Or 2025: Nominees in all categories, favorites and election date

The 2025 Ballon d'Or winner will be announced on September 22. This year, the long-distance battle between PSG's French striker Ousmane Dembélé and FC Barcelona's Spaniard Lamine Yamal is expected to rage to succeed Manchester City midfielder Rodri, who won last year's award. Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé is also among the serious contenders for football's highest individual accolade.
At this 69th edition of the Ballon d'Or, the winner will be chosen by a jury of 100 international journalists (one from each country in the top 100 of the FIFA rankings). Each voter will select 10 players in descending order, with the first receiving 15 points, the second 12, then 10, 8, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 point. This will ensure that no player has zero points and establish real differences.
