A new nest for the Marathon in Green Provence in Brignoles

First crowd bath for the Cours Liberté! This Saturday, the 7th edition of the Var Provence Verte Marathon, which had been taking place for several years in the Charles-Gaou garden, made its first arrival at the new stronghold of Brignoles.
Or rather, to be precise, its first mass event in its new configuration, as Mayor Didier Brémond pointed out, a few minutes after completing the 10km course solo: "The finish had already taken place here, but not in the same conditions, we had significantly less space. The Charles-Gaou garden was becoming too small for this event, which welcomes nearly 3,000 runners, and as many, if not more, accompanying people."
Enough to look forward to future editions of the sporting event. "We had thought about this space being able to accommodate people, so we can consider setting up the marathon finish line here," smiled the mayor.
For the majority of runners, happy to be done with this not-so-flat course, the feeling was shared, even if the Cours Liberté quickly filled with people, under the gaze of Samuel Bonaudo, the organizer: "We obviously have more space, it's more comfortable than in the garden, but the space is not easy to manage to avoid causing too much disturbance to local residents."
A story of adjustments to be found for the years to come.
