This symbol on your Livebox could indicate that someone is using your internet connection.

An internet box has become an essential device in many homes. Without it, we wouldn't be able to browse the internet, use our connected devices like light bulbs, or even simply use our smart TVs.
Yet, few internet box owners truly care about the security of their device. This is, however, the key point that connects all your internet connections. It can make you a target for hackers or simply unscrupulous neighbors who might try to hijack your connection. Fortunately, there are very simple ways to find out if someone is currently using your internet box without your knowledge.

Using your internet box is not something to be taken lightly. As we explained earlier, allowing other people to access your box can seriously impact your own connection. If other users connect in large numbers or download many files, this can significantly reduce the quality of your internet speed.
The best course of action is to ensure that no one other than yourself (or those close to you) can access your router. To quickly verify this, you can disconnect all your devices that are usually connected to your router. Don't forget anything, whether it's computers, connected household appliances, or lights. Once this is done, observe your internet router. If the internet indicator light remains on or is flashing, this may mean that a connection is still active on your router.
However, some models don't necessarily follow this rule. Their Wi-Fi symbol remains lit as long as the router is plugged in and active. To ensure that no one is using your connection, it's recommended that you check your router's settings.
Get a computer connected to your router and go to the following address using a web browser: 192.168.1.1 (or 192.168.0.1 in some cases). You can then log in to your router using your credentials (usually sent by your internet service provider when you sign up for your contract). Find the "connected devices" section to check all the authorized connections on your router.
If you find devices that you do not recognize, it is best to check your router settings and change the password to prevent future unwanted connections.
