Tonneins renewed its oaths with its Italian and Alsatian twins

As it does every two years, the town pulled out all the stops to welcome the fifty or so participants in these twinning celebrations. Arriving from Zoppola and Thann on Friday, August 8, and greeted by the traditional distribution of welcome bags, they met up with their host families on Saturday, August 9, in the morning, at the market, to taste their respective local products.

On Sunday, August 10, the lengthy official ceremony took place in the public garden. Under sweltering heat, the twin elected officials and their families listened to speeches and witnessed the presentation of gifts and the official renewal of oaths before a late meal.
