The RN struggles to defend its call for Macron's resignation and dissolution against the Medef

The leitmotif is so worn out that it's even laughed at within the ranks of the National Rally (RN). "The calm of the old troops." Meaning: Marine Le Pen's supposed knack for weathering turmoil. Since August 25th and François Bayrou's announcement of a vote of confidence, the Le Penists have been trying to minimize the consequences of a political crisis they intend to accelerate. Invited to the University of the Movement of French Enterprises (Medef) on Thursday, August 28th, Jordan Bardella measured the doubts and mistrust raised by a fully assumed disengagement.

As soon as the September 8 deadline for the National Assembly was announced, the RN did more than simply sound the Prime Minister's downfall, joining forces with the left. Its two leaders, Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella, are seeking to corner Emmanuel Macron: "Dissolution or resignation." In either case, this would result in an early "return to the polls" likely to alarm electorates sensitive to the country's political stability, the very same people the RN still lacks—the upper classes, the economic classes, and retirees.
