Saint-Paul-de-Vence will soon install an automatic system for reading its water meters

The city is modernizing and will install a remote reading system for its drinking water meters . An agreement approved at the last city council meeting which now binds Saint-Paul-de-Vence , the public service delegate, the inter-municipal union of Esteron and the lower Var (Sievi), Suez eau France and Dolce ô service (a subsidiary of Suez) responsible for installing relay antennas.
In short, this involves the deployment of an innovative, automated, remote water meter reading system. The transmitters are placed directly on the water meters; the chosen technology uses a transmission frequency reserved for metering systems, lasting one second each day, at a power 10 times lower than established standards.
Rapid leak detectionFour antennas, each about a meter high, will be installed : three on street lighting poles and one on the roof of the main town hall. They will cover the entire area of the municipality.
This automated metering system aims to reduce inaccurate billing and enable rapid leak detection . Opposition councillor Jean-Paul Faure took the floor, challenging the mayor: "We still don't know the price of water, it's a big confusion. I called Suez to find out the price per litre, but they can't answer me."
And the chief magistrate replied: "That's not the subject of the deliberation, the issue is the automatic reading of water meters. We've already discussed that. To find out the price of water, call the public service delegation representative, the Sievi."
