Gwendoline Vogt and Kévin Megel, two residents of Mouterhouse, will take over the village restaurant, which has been closed since September 2023. The young couple, tenants of the municipality who bought the establishment at the beginning of the year, hope to open its doors in spring 2026. But first, six months of work must be carried out.
"Au rendez-vous des voyageurs" was an institution in Mouterhouse. A restaurant built in the 1950s, it quickly became an important part of the village's ecosystem. "People would meet there on Sunday afternoons to play belote, or after communions. It was a place to live," recalls Guy Hammer, the mayor .
But in September 2023, the Zilliox family, the second generation of owners of the property, had to close the doors for good. Their retirement had come, their children had no desire to take over the establishment, and no agreement had been reached with potential...
