Lyon: 6th arrondissement mayor Pascal Blache could extend his retirement

His first deputy, Christian Termoz-Mazan (LR), who is acting as interim mayor, is expected to be given a two-month extension as head of the 6th arrondissement. No official reason has been given so far, but health concerns have reportedly been mentioned by his entourage.
By opting to step down rather than resign, the elected official continues to receive his allowances as borough mayor, municipal councilor, and metropolitan councilor. According to our colleagues, the question of his succession is also at the center of discussions. In May, Pascal Blache hinted that he would not seek reelection in 2026.
