" The people of Lyon deserve better. " In a press release issued Thursday, May 15, the Republican mayor of Lyon's 2nd arrondissement and candidate in the 2026 municipal elections denounced the " repeated personal attacks " he has been the target of for several weeks.

" Just yesterday, my campaign posters had "fragile" plastered on them, or drawings of penises to describe me ," Pierre Oliver complained. "Join Aulas" was also written on these posters. "Two weeks ago, my first deputy was receiving anonymous insulting calls at night and on weekends ," he continued, attributing these " attempts at intimidation " to " Jean-Michel Aulas's teams ."

" Some of Jean-Michel Aulas's supporters thought it was a good idea to attack my four-and-a-half-year-old daughter on the TikTok platform, sharing information about her. That line has been crossed. Nothing justifies exposing a child to political violence ," said the mayor of the 2nd arrondissement, who indicated that he had filed a complaint.

Pierre Oliver then received the support of one of his most ardent political opponents, Valentin Lungenstrass, Grégory Doucet's deputy for mobility. The mayor himself also offered his support privately, according to his entourage.

As a reminder, former Olympique Lyonnais president Jean-Michel Aulas still leaves doubts about his possible candidacy in the municipal elections, but many political figures have already lined up behind him. His nebulous support committee, Génération Aulas - now working closely with his communications agency - is making numerous announcements about the support of district councilors.

This Thursday, Jean-Michel Aulas also published a new message on X with his now-customary hashtag "PacteLyonnais." " Throughout the discussions, innovative and concrete ideas are emerging.
