Forbach. Muller Encadrements, a family expertise that has lasted for 50 years

It's one of the last historic businesses in Forbach. Muller Encadrements, located on Avenue Saint-Rémy, is a family business that has been going on for 50 years. The shop is run by 60-year-old Jean-Marc Muller. He learned the trade from his father, Bernard, and took over the business in 2000. In his workshop, he frames his clients' photos and paintings, with a passion for a job well done and, above all, true craftsmanship.

Jean-Marc Muller spends most of his time in his studio, tucked away at the back of his shop. The vast, fluorescent-lit room is a state of absolute chaos. Bare frames are piled up in a corner, and work in progress is lined up on large tables amidst all sorts of tools. Moldings, baguettes, mats, mats, rulers, diamond glass cutters, and other framing accessories are spread out among wedding photos, family photos, landscapes from other places, and a few paintings.
