As announced, the Minister of Justice visited the former president in prison at La Santé on Wednesday, October 30. This initiative was poorly received within the judiciary. Some raised concerns about a potential threat to the independence of judges. "They are, however, above such matters," countered former senior magistrate Bruno Cotte.
