The "memory" of Aboubakar Cissé will be honored in the National Assembly. The president of the lower house, Yaël Braun-Pivet, announced on X that a tribute will be paid this Tuesday, April 29, in the chamber to the young man killed Friday in a mosque in the Gard region with dozens of stab wounds. The suspect in the murder surrendered to police in Italy on Sunday evening.
"I have decided to observe a minute of silence in tribute to Aboubakar Cissé, whose cowardly assassination in a mosque in the Gard region shocked the country ," explains Yaël Braun-Pivet. "No consensus emerged this morning at the conference of presidents. I have since spoken with some group presidents. Faced with the legitimate emotion and given the despicable exploitation of his death by some, I hoped that we could pay tribute to his memory later. Soberly and with dignity."
