Jason Ritter Shares One Thing Melanie Lynskey Won't Share With Him

Jason Ritter can't seem to crack Melanie Lynskey's poker face.
The Matlock actor revealed that his wife of five years refuses to share any details about her character's storyline in the second season of Poker Face—despite the fact that he has a guest-starring role in the Peacock series' latest installment as well.
"I do ask," Jason exclusively told Will Marfuggi and Erin Lim Rhodes during the E! @ Poker Face Season Two Premiere livestream event May 1, "but she just doesn't tell me."
In fact, the 45-year-old said Melanie, 47, stays firm on her rule when it comes to divulging secrets about any TV show he's watching.
"Even though I will forget all spoilers by the time I'm watching," he quipped, "so it doesn't ever bother me. But I still don't get any spoilers."
And while Jason said he wouldn't mind knowing, Melanie felt strongly that she was doing her partner a favor by not revealing what goes down during her stint on the crime comedy, which premieres on May 8 and features a new mystery to be solved by Natasha Lyonne's detective character Charlie Cale each episode.
As she put it to E!, "I won't ruin it."
For Melanie, she's happy to have the same experience when watching Jason's appearance as well, noting that she "hasn't seen" his episode either.
However, Jason was willing to tease his run on the second installment of the show, which also guest-stars Justin Theroux, Kumail Nanjiani, Cynthia Erivo and Katie Holmes, among others.
"There's a little fighting in my episode," he hinted, "so we'll see what happens."
One aspect of their job that Melanie will share with her husband? Practicing their lines.
Jason added, "She'll help me out sometimes, but I need more help than she does."
Poker Face premieres on Peacock May 8. In the meantime, check out more stars who stepped out for the show's season two premiere.
