Strasbourg. First participation in the pediatric cancer awareness day

Around a hundred people gathered on Saturday, September 13, to celebrate the national day of the month, Golden September, which raises awareness of pediatric cancers . In France, more than 2,500 children and adolescents are diagnosed each year. Medical research and support for these children, their families, and their loved ones remain essential. Many people—medical professionals, associations, and supporters—spoke in support of these sick children, before the town hall and the Opera House were illuminated at 8:30 p.m.
Accompanied by the sounds of the Dromadulaires brass band , there was no shortage of entertainment this evening with the distribution of fun objects and light-up bracelets which were a great success amidst the soap bubbles that invaded the square. Two clowns walked around with gold-colored balloons, making the audience laugh.
French champion motorsport driver Kévin Petit , a big-hearted patron of the Enfants Cancers Santé association for the past five years, was keen to be present at this event: "I do my best in my capacity for these young people who have been less fortunate than me. I always display the association's logo on my cars, so I can show them through photos and videos that I share my dream with them, which helps them forget their daily lives." The famous graffiti artist Brunograffer created a live work for the association in the event's colours.
For Claudine Ribeton, administrator of Children's Cancer Health Grand Est , this magical evening had a bitter taste: "When we see what happened in other cities, like Metz, which does not have a research center like ours, we can be disappointed by the lack of commitment from the municipality," she laments. "Minimal and pink lighting instead of the planned sparkles, a ban on displaying Kévin Petit's car, even though it was there to amaze the children, an absence of politicians and elected officials..."
