Lyon: An ophthalmologist takes her patient to court over a bad Google review
The Lyon Criminal Court has acquitted the patient of a Lyon ophthalmologist, who was being tried for leaving a negative review on Google.
A Lyon ophthalmologist sued one of her patients for defamation on April 15th before the Lyon Criminal Court. The professional accused him of leaving a negative review of her practice on Google on July 18th, 2024. The review criticized the waiting time and the hygiene of the machines, actuLyon reported.
The ophthalmologist was claiming €1,500 in damages. On Tuesday, May 20, according to our colleagues at Le Progrès , the Lyon Criminal Court delivered its judgment. The defendant was not convicted, although his comments were considered defamatory. He will therefore not owe the damages claimed by the ophthalmologist.
