Jurançon: a brand new city stadium for young people from the IME Castel de Navarre

The Medical-Educational Institute has inaugurated its new city stadium, partly financed through a partnership with the Estelada association.
The 115 young people attending the Castel de Navarre Medical-Educational Institute (IME), located on the hillsides of Jurançon, benefit from a brand new city stadium.
The latter was officially inaugurated on Tuesday, September 9, by Stéphane Gracia, Deputy Director General of PEP 64 (Pupils of Public Education), administrators of the establishment, Laurent Coussy, head of the institute, Cédric Mousseron, president of Estelada, partner association, and many young people. It was at the request of the latter, via the Social Life Council, that the city stadium was created.
52,000 euros of workThe work, costing €52,000, was carried out by the Casal Sport company on the esplanade of the former playing field. The artificial surface, built on a bed of sand and surrounded by fences, is suitable for playing basketball, football, handball, field hockey, and badminton. Its financing was made possible thanks to €10,000 support from Estelada.
"Our association aims to raise funds from private partners to help carry out such projects," insists its president, Cédric Mousseron. "We wanted this partnership because we have developed special ties with the IME." To highlight this partnership, the city stadium was named Cast'elada Stadium.
Support for the Estelada"The esplanade is now divided into two parts," explains Laurent Coussy, head of the establishment. "One part is dedicated to sports and the other part to gentle activities. Regarding funding, the Estelada's help was invaluable, as the rest of the money comes from the establishment's own funds."
Committed on several fronts, the Estelada association, whose patron is Isabelle Ithurburu, will allow two teenagers from the IME to follow as reporters the Roses des sables rally which will take place in Morocco, from October 19 to 24. They will be accompanied on site by an educator and a member of the association. These young people will relay the participants' journey on the social networks of the IME, Estaleda and the rally.
