Tap or bottled water, number of glasses per day... Dr. Jimmy Mohamed's advice on hydration

With information pouring in about the contamination and purity of tap and bottled water, it can be difficult to choose which one to choose? Dr. Jimmy Mohamed takes stock in the May 2 edition of "20 Heures."
"For your health, you are not obliged to buy bottled mineral water," emphasizes Dr. Jimmy Mohamed, doctor and journalist, in his column on Friday, May 2 on France 2. "If there is no problem or alert on the sanitation network, tap water covers all your needs," he reminds.
While mineral water has its advantages, "the best water is the water that you drink in good quantities throughout the day," says Jimmy Mohamed, who explains that bottled water also has its disadvantages for health: "We found microparticles of plastic in the water, which you will ingest," he says.
There are a few guidelines that must be followed when drinking bottled water: "Never leave the bottle of water lying around in the car, in the bedroom, exposed to the sun... Because the heat accelerates the release of microparticles into the water," warns the doctor, who recommends instead keeping it in the fridge and drinking it quickly.
