The years go by, and to the great delight of the management team, the Lorraine Student Entrepreneurship Center (Peel) is similar: for the tenth consecutive year, in fact since the ranking has existed, Peel is ranked number 1 in the Pépite-France network. This, with the cherry on the cake this year a new record since 676 student-entrepreneurs passed through the center in 2025, a hundred more than last year . A success that continues thanks to a "now very well-established culture of student entrepreneurship in Lorraine and the diversification that we have put in place and that we will continue to pursue in our audiences", explains Professor Christophe Schmitt, head of the structure . A broadening of the scope "to doctoral students first but also to other parts of the university such as human and social sciences (SHS)".
To support this development, Peel knows it can count on "word of mouth, which works particularly well, but also on the staff who are dedicated to awareness-raising activities and communication, particularly via social networks," continues Christophe Schmitt. A process in which the boss is personally involved: "I met with some training managers in SHS, for example in history or psychology: the listening skills are excellent!", he adds. The final pillar of future development is the creation of events to promote entrepreneurship as a real lever for professional integration.
As for the recipe for moving projects forward, it remains unchanged in terms of fundamentals: favoring an individual approach rather than the "simple" selection of projects. Indeed, unlike many comparable structures, the Lorrain student entrepreneurship center (PeeL) has the philosophy of allowing young students to try their hand at entrepreneurship , even if their project is still vague. The added value of Peel: taking projects from this "gaseous" state, according to Professor Schmitt's term, to "completed" if it can go that far. By giving full importance to the student's personality. This method is now widely proven: the centers that also feature on the national podium are Bordeaux Aquitaine, at 170 lengths and Aix Marseille at more than 320. QED.
