Crous Questions: “I haven’t received any housing offers in the main phase, what should I do?”

Frédérique Charleux. Indeed, this is the great anxiety of many students. The main phase began on June 17 and runs until July 1. At the national level, we have a complementary phase that will open on July 8. So obviously, in a high-pressure area like the Bordeaux metropolitan area, housing options are already very limited at that date, but there are still some remaining accommodations available, so we must seize this slot in the calendar. For those who will not obtain accommodation (because each year there are many more requests than places, editor's note), it is better to have a plan B by consulting the housing offers in the private sector, but also the offers of shared accommodation or shared housing.
What's also important to remember is that throughout the academic year, students also have the opportunity to visit the "find accommodation" website and can apply for accommodation that becomes available during the year, as things often change. For example, we have student residences that sometimes open during the year. So, just because you didn't find accommodation during the summer doesn't mean things are set in stone forever.
Please note, however, that if you wish to apply for the supplementary phase, you must complete the process on the website. You are not automatically registered if you did not obtain housing during the main phase. And then, of course, the prerequisite is to have completed your student social security file.
