Music. Julien Clerc is releasing an album this Friday, with a tribute to his late brother Gérard Leclerc.

In Une vie , available this Friday, Julien Clerc sings about the twists and turns of life, from love to the accidental loss of his brother, the journalist Gérard Leclerc, to whom he dedicates "un musique pas triste".
At 77 years old, Julien Clerc is releasing his 28th album this Friday. Entitled Une vie , it was produced by Benjamin Biolay , in which the singer collaborates with Serge Lama , Didier Barbelivien, Gaëtan Roussel and Carla Bruni .
More than 50 years after his debut, the singer of Maférence assures that his longevity is largely linked to the lyricists who accompanied him: "I am a composer, so all my life I have looked for authors and I have found them. I believe that having worked with all these different authors has allowed me to last, to renew myself musically." The first extract from this opus, Les Parvis , inspired by the tribute paid by the companion of a teacher killed by a student in 2023 , had set the tone: songs with lyrics and a voice with a vibrato recognizable among a thousand.

Another song, Saint-Nazaire , written by lyricist Paul École, relates the accidental loss of his brother, journalist Gérard Leclerc , in a plane crash on August 15, 2023 in Lavau-sur-Loire (Loire-Atlantique), at the age of 71. "I wanted there to be a song about him in the album and if possible that the text allowed me to make music that wasn't sad. I was very happy with what he had come up with, this idea of two brothers trying to fly away, one on his piano and the other in his plane. There have been very few songs that I have asked for in my life," explains Julien Clerc.
The singer is preparing for a new tour starting in February 2026 which will take him until October 9, 2027 to the Accor Arena in Paris, a symbolic concert: "Five days later, I will be able to celebrate my 80th birthday in this hall where I was the first Frenchman to sing and where I have never returned since!"
To stay in shape, Julien Clerc says he "swims three times a week" and "takes care" of himself. "But you shouldn't over-explain how it all happens behind the scenes. That's the nobility of our profession. Make it seem easy like that, even if it isn't always. You have to keep a little bit of magic."
