Attention art lovers. The first edition of the National Artists' Days is being held this Saturday, September 13th and Sunday, September 14th throughout France. Initiated by La Maison des Artistes, sponsored by the last Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, and organized in partnership with the Association of Mayors of France and Intercommunality Presidents (AMF), these days bring together more than 2,500 national artists, celebrating and offering an opportunity to discover local artistic creation. From Valbonne to Biot via Opio, Cannes, and Mougins, here is a selection of activities not to be missed.
An illustration and a painting live in a gallery, in BiotThe Gabel Gallery, located at the entrance to the old village of Biot, welcomes artist Aleksandra Sobol on Saturday morning. A trained architect of Polish origin, she devoted herself entirely to illustration in 2015. The artist will create a live painting and an illustration, offering visitors the opportunity to witness the birth of a work. Her work, primarily based on ink and watercolor and characterized by a singular style that combines spontaneity and visual poetry, will come to life before the eyes of the public.

Visit to the studio-gallery of a contemporary painter in MouginsContemporary painter Gilbert Morales invites the public to enter his creative universe at his studio-gallery in Mougins. Visitors will have the opportunity to admire his works and discover the creative process behind his vibrantly colored paintings. The artist will share his sources of inspiration and explain his artistic approach.

Meeting with a painter and sculptor in residence, in ValbonneJoanna Painter, a one-year artist-in-residence in Valbonne, is taking over the studio located on the first floor of the tourist office. The public will be able to discover her paintings and sculptures, as well as the collaborative projects she will develop with the local community. This residency, initiated by the town hall, is part of a cultural mediation approach aimed at building bridges between the artist and various stakeholders in the area.

Visit to the studio of a sculptor and ceramist in CannesMarthe Rubes opens her Cannes studio to the public to reveal the behind-the-scenes of her artistic creation. Her work, which navigates between abstraction and figuration, invites reflection on the use of color and texture. Visitors will be able to discover previously unseen works and discuss the technical and conceptual challenges of her practice with the artist.

Workshop visit and creation of a joint work, in OpioChristine Spiteri opens the doors of her studio-gallery for a multisensory artistic experience. Visitors will discover the ancestral technique of tempera painting and participate in the creation of a collective work. The artist will also present an innovative mediation tool based on the contemplation of her digital works. This original approach, which explores the boundaries between time and space, transforms the visit into a true dialogue between the artist and the public.
