Concerts, theater, comedy and dinner shows: the new season at the Casino Barrière in Menton promises some great headliners

The 5th Artistic Season of the Casino Barrière de Menton was presented this Wednesday, September 18, in the magnificent Brummel hall. With around fifteen shows planned this year, spread between October and June , the program promises to be promising and diverse.

Concerts, tributes, theater, comedy, one-(wo)man shows, dinner shows... Enough to satisfy the Menton public, who are loyal to the event. " We want to strengthen our position as an "entertainment resort" since the Brummel was rehabilitated into a theater," announced the general manager of the venue, Hilario Aznar, thanking the mayor Yves Juhel for the close collaboration with the City of Menton.

And Blandine Harmelin, artistic and events director of the Barrière group, emphasizes that the Casino de Menton has the highest attendance rate of all the casino rooms, "live entertainment, entertainment, it's in the roots of the group..."

"This year, we're taking the crazy gamble of making a sold-out season !" says Pierre Schwartz of "Aseca Prod," the producer of this artistic season for the past four years, who is also in charge of the Palais de l'Europe this year.

And it is alongside Laurence Botcazou, marketing and artistic director of the Casino de Menton, that he presents the major events of the year, punctuated by messages from the artists broadcast to the Menton public...

The big return of Ary Abittan, Alévêque, Chollet in freewheel!

The departure will undoubtedly be explosive, with the arrival on October 17 and 18 of comedian Ary Abittan . After three years of absence and "difficult times, but over" , the comedian is starting again with renewed vigor, ready to share a new page of his life with rare sincerity.

In his new show "Authentique" , he tells his story, frankly and freely. "We are lucky to have him at the start of the tour in Menton" , explains Pierre Schwartz.

Another one-man show that promises to be a hit is that of Christophe Alévêque ! As a committed comedian, he will dissect, on Saturday January 17 , in his "Press Review" "the wonderful times we are living in" ... and will be freewheeling to deliver "total freedom of expression!"

During the Lemon Festival, on Saturday February 28 , comedian Christelle Chollet , who was discovered by Patrick Sébastien, returns to the stage to celebrate her "20 years already" in a stunning show, which once again shows her talent for comedy, show business and singing.

Concerts and tributes

This isn't the first time that "Gospel Dream" has performed in Menton, but this time it will come at the end of their tour, just before Christmas. This collective of singers and musicians from Africa, the Caribbean, and the United States invites you, on December 19 , to share a moment of deep spiritual connection...

On December 28 , Jean-Pierre Virgil , who was Michel Sardou's long-time vocalist, will share his love for the legendary hits of the greatest French popular voice.

On Friday, February 20 , in the middle of the Lemon Festival, Jean Menconi invites you to a great celebration of the most beautiful Corsican songs. He will also perform his own compositions while revisiting great international classics.

Followed on February 27 by a "Tribute to Queen" concert with "Vipers Queen" , which won a European Tribute trophy.

On Saturday, April 25, the Stile Libero band will pay tribute to the greatest hits of Eros Ramazotti. This tribute band is well-known in Italy, particularly thanks to its singer Gioachino Casterllino, whose voice is surprisingly reminiscent of the Italian star. This will be their first official performance in France.

Let's have a laugh!

On the theatre side, the Casino has chosen hilarious plays, starting on November 22nd with the comedy written and directed by Laurent Baffie "Toc Toc" , which was a great success in Paris and is the most sold-out show in France! In Menton, the play is being revived with a half-Parisian, half-Nice troupe, which received a standing ovation this summer at the Avignon Festival.

On March 14, "Three Women on the Verge of a Mothering Crisis" (by Pascale Moine-Frémy and Jérôme Paquatte) tells the very funny story of three generations of women, played by a Marseille troupe, forced to coexist: three temperaments, three secrets...

And on May 16 , for the last date of the Season, the comedy "Entre ils et elle" by Stéphane Floch, awarded in Avignon, also evokes a cohabitation between women...

Dinner shows

They take place in the more intimate Barrière room. On November 7 and 8 , the evening will be hosted by Francis Cabrel 's official voice actor, Laurent Chanadet, who is marking the start of his solo career.

Followed on January 23 and 24 by the "Legends of the Blues" , who distill the vibrant sound of blues and jazz and pass through Menton before a big tour next summer.

On February 27 , the show "Histo'Rock" will retrace the great epic of rock'n'roll...

On March 6 and 7 , Yannick, Claude François 's No. 1 lookalike, will perform before the final dinner show on May 8 and 9 dedicated to Charles Aznavour , sung by Patrick Zian.
