Cannes Film Festival 2025: Director Cédric Klapisch takes the steps for the first time

A joyful tribe climbed the steps of Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes) on Thursday, May 22, gathered around Cédric Klapisch. For 30 years, he has been collecting popular successes. But this is a first for him on the steps of Cannes. "I want it to remain festive and a joyful event, but there may be a lot of emotion," confides the director of "The Coming of the Future." In his new film, he takes us this time on a journey through time.

A song to celebrate their arrival: the children in the film "Ma frère" are living a waking dream today as they climb the famous steps. This coming-of-age film tells the story of a break for these children during a summer camp with their feet in the water in the Drôme, far from their neighborhoods. "It's weird because I've always seen it on television but I've never actually been there," one of the children says.
