It's a chest, hidden somewhere in Western Europe. Inside, a golden sword, adorned with precious stones, worth an estimated €250,000. On Thursday, May 22, the Puy du Fou theme park kicked off a major treasure hunt, dubbed "Exkalibur." The event was organized to coincide with the presentation of the new show "The Sword of King Arthur."

According to the Vendée park, this is the " biggest treasure hunt ever organized." Twelve puzzles must be solved to identify the sword's whereabouts. "The first player to get their hands on the chest will become the rightful owner of the royal sword Exkalibur," the park wrote in a press release, seen by ICI Loire Océan (formerly France Bleu).

More than 20,000 participants registered by the end of the first day, reports ICI Loire Océan. The packages, all paid, range from 39 to 129 euros depending on the options. The last major treasure hunt of this type, the "Golden Owl," took 31 years to solve. For "Exkalibur," Puy du Fou has limited the duration of the game to 5 years.
