More rail disasters. On Monday evening, a TGV Inoui had to be evacuated near Tonneins, in Lot-et-Garonne, due to the severe thunderstorms raging in the southwest . All orange alerts were lifted this Tuesday morning in this part of the country.

The railway tracks were completely flooded, causing the ballast (the gravel bed on which the track rests) to collapse and create a hole nearly two meters deep under the rails, according to the Actu website. Part of the train then derailed at this point.
SNCF specifies that traffic will remain interrupted between Agen and Marmande for "at least several days" in order to carry out "major works", thus impacting traffic between Bordeaux and Toulouse.
Var still on orange alertThe bad weather also caused a tree to fall in the centre of Toulouse, flooding of secondary roads and the evacuation of schools.
As of Tuesday morning, only the Var region in the southeast remains on orange alert for rain, flooding, and thunderstorms, at least until noon. The storms could "produce heavy rainfall, ranging from 80 to 120 mm in three hours" this Tuesday morning, Météo-France warned in a previous bulletin.
