Massive intervention in the heart of Périgueux for domestic violence
The police intervention lasted more than an hour in the center of Périgueux. Olivier Antoine

For over an hour on Thursday, August 28, Rue Gambetta in Périgueux was partially closed to traffic by police during a raid on a home. A violent man was arrested after domestic violence.

The busy Rue Gambetta in Périgueux was closed to traffic for over an hour starting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 28. This caused some disruption, but also prompted a large number of curious onlookers to come and see what was going on. And for good reason: police officers, motorcyclists, firefighters, and emergency medical services were all present on the scene. Finally, after several minutes of intervention in this residential building located not far from the Carthage restaurant, the officers finally left with a man on a stretcher.

According to initial reports and the neighborhood, the police intervened following domestic violence and a man who was difficult to control "who was breaking everything." To arrest him, the police called the fire brigade and the emergency medical services, who sedated the individual before transporting him to the hospital and then taking him into custody.
