According to Actu Lyon , on Sunday, September 6, 2025, a Palestinian refugee in his twenties threatened to throw himself from the top of the Halles car park in the 3rd arrondissement of Lyon. The man, originally from Gaza, was demanding that his family come to France.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on the roof of the parking lot opposite the Halles Paul Bocuse, in the Part-Dieu district. Avenue Garibaldi was partially closed, and TCL bus traffic was disrupted. Firefighters, police, and the Red Cross intervened, and a negotiator was called in as backup.
