Cédric Jubillar: 17 times, what is this number that disturbs investigators and suggests the worst?

A new search request was filed this week in the Jubillar case. As a reminder, Delphine Jubillar disappeared during the night of December 15-16, 2020, in Cagnac-les-Mines, in the Tarn department. According to her husband, Cédric, who is accused of killing her, she left the family home between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m., wearing a white down jacket and taking only her cell phone. It was reportedly located for the first time on December 15 at 12:51 p.m. in a wooded area of Mirandol-Bourgnounac, and again at 3:21 a.m. It was at 4:09 a.m. that Cédric Jubillar contacted the police to report the 33-year-old nurse missing.
But a new twist occurred this week. According to a private report, a new search request has been filed concerning a wooded area that has not yet been searched by investigators , as revealed by BFMTV . Indeed, Cédric Jubillar's cell phone reportedly stopped "17 times between November 15 and December 15, 2020" in this area. This period corresponds to the month preceding Delphine Jubillar 's disappearance.
A wooded area never searched by investigatorsPauline Rongier, a civil party lawyer representing the interests of Delphine Jubillar's best friend, therefore sent a letter on Monday, May 12, to the president of the Tarn Assize Court, asking her to order a new expert appraisal of this geographical data, a visit to the scene, and a search of the area. She particularly emphasized the fact that this event contradicts Cédric Jubillar's statements.
“I fully confirm this information,” explained Mourad Battikh, the lawyer for Delphine Jubillar’s uncle and aunt, on the BFMTV set this Sunday, May 18. The phone of the main suspect rang “17 times on site, that’s what caught my attention, that’s what made me ask an expert to come and testify before the Assize Court as soon as the trial begins to discuss these findings which, in my opinion, could change the nature of the trial.”
This wooded area, located near the town of Mirandol-Bourgnounac in the Tarn region, about thirty kilometers from the Jubillar couple's home, has never been searched. An investigator from the Toulouse research unit, who visited the site in April 2021, estimated that the site where Cédric Jubillar's phone had been located the day before his wife's disappearance, as well as during the night, was not accessible by a passable road. Furthermore, the GPS coordinates obtained did not convince the experts appointed by the investigating judge, who expressed doubts about their "reliability."
Cédric Jubillar, still in pre-trial detention and declaring himself innocent of the disappearance of his wife of seven years, who had announced her intention to divorce him the previous summer , is being prosecuted for voluntary manslaughter. His trial is due to begin on 22 September 2025 before the Tarn Assize Court.
