Footage filmed around Toulouse showed impressive hailstones measuring 7 centimeters. They even pierced roofs and windshields. Residents were surprised by the intensity of the rainfall.

Rivers burst their banks late Monday. Several roads were flooded, and schools were forced to close. Firefighters responded to around 100 rescues.
Drained by rain and flooding, the rail bed collapsed, causing part of a TGV Inoui Paris-Toulouse train to derail near Tonneins in Lot-et-Garonne. The train was stopped around 9:30 p.m. After a three-hour wait, the TGV passengers were evacuated. There were no injuries among the 508 passengers.
