The charming Asturian village located in a privileged enclave: a haven of peace and incredible surroundings

In Asturias, there are hundreds of small towns that are overshadowed by the larger tourist centers of the autonomous community, such as Oviedo and Gijón, as well as by the most visited towns in the region, such as Cudillero, Lastres, and Llanes . Just a short distance from the latter municipality is one of those towns that few people know about, but which is one of the most magical in the entire Principality: Villahormes, located on the shores of the Cantabrian Sea.
Located just 14 kilometers from the center of Llanes, in the same municipality, this town is one of the greatest havens of peace you can visit in all of northern Spain, with tranquility permeating every corner of the town. Furthermore, being on the edge of the wild waters of the Cantabrian Sea, the natural landscapes surrounding this tiny Asturian village are absolutely sublime, with the sea and mountains intermingling to create unique landscapes that will delight all lovers of rural tourism.
Villahormes, a retreat on the shores of the Cantabrian Sea
Located in the Oriente region, this small Asturian parish has just a handful of houses in its town center, but what truly draws attention to this peaceful village is the stunning natural surroundings. Nestled between the mountains and the sea, the town boasts one of the most fascinating settings in all of Asturias, especially along its coastline, as exemplified by La Huelga beach, a magnificent stretch of sand known to very few.
Of course, the rugged coastline of Villahormes makes this part of the Asturian coast a true marvel. The jewel in the crown is none other than the impressive Castro de las Gaviotas, a natural arch in the sea sculpted over millions of years, which adds even more charm (if possible) to this extraordinary place. Furthermore, in the surrounding area, you can explore fantastic hiking trails, further cementing the parish as one of the best destinations in all of Spain to connect with nature and escape the crowds.
The village of Villahormes is located just 50 minutes by road from the city of Gijón. To get there from the Asturian city, simply take the A-8 motorway and, a few kilometers from the village, take the detour onto the AS-379, which leads directly to the town center. It also has a train station, making it easily accessible by rail.
