Technological advancement is inevitable in all areas of life, and the world of football is no exception. On June 28th, at an event held in Beijing's Yizhuang Development Zone, a competition was held for robots created by various Chinese universities.

This tournament, which caused a huge sensation in the Asian country and was a resounding success, as explained by the event's main organizer, Dou Jing, pitted four teams of completely independent humanoid robots against each other, moving automatically thanks to the help of different artificial intelligence algorithms, sensors, and cameras.

Each of these robots could play on the field without human supervision and used their own systems to perform the various movements typically performed in this sport. However, they had more than a few mishaps during the match: collisions, stumbles, mobility issues, and more.

This scenario, far from boring viewers, as the event was broadcast on Chinese national television, added much more excitement, laughter, and drama to a championship that was ultimately won by the THU robotics team after defeating Mountain Sea 5-3.
