Maradona's death trial annulled

San Isidro. The Argentine court has annulled the trial of seven defendants accused of murder in the death of soccer star Diego Maradona. The trial must restart with a new court after one of the judges recused itself due to an unauthorized documentary about the case. The decision nullifies the content of the 20 hearings held since March 11, in which more than 40 witnesses testified, evidence was presented, and the three daughters of Diego Maradona testified. The new trial does not yet have a start date, as it depends on a new court being designated by lottery. Having heard all parties, the court's decision is announced, which is the nullity of the trial , said Judge Maximiliano Savarino at the San Isidro court, near Buenos Aires, where the trial was taking place. The annulment had been requested by the prosecution, the plaintiffs, and most of the defense attorneys after it came to light that Judge Julieta Makintach was participating in the filming of a documentary series about the case without the parties' authorization. There are no established deadlines for restarting the proceedings, explained Félix Linfante, lawyer for one of the idol's daughters. His client, Jana Maradona, told reporters outside the court: "I'm not calm. I'm angry, I hate them ."

New York. The New York Knicks defeated the Indiana Pacers 111-94 yesterday at Madison Square Garden in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals. Jalen Brunson led the way with 32 points, extending the contest to a sixth game, as the home team's victory gave them a 3-2 series lead.

The New Yorkers led the way to victory with a great defensive effort.

The Pacers were coming off a Game 4 loss in which they scored 43 points in the first quarter alone.
