David González, extremely harsh against Andrés Rojas' refereeing in the derby that he lost against Santa Fe

Millonarios coach David González lamented the defeat against Santa Fe in the 322nd derby, which cost them elimination from the 2025-I Liga, but he also criticized the work of the refereeing team, led by Andrés Rojas.
Both goals scored by the Reds were reviewed by VAR: the first, scored by Hugo Rodallega, was analyzed for a possible offside, and the second, scored by Ewil Murillo, was analyzed for a possible foul at the start of the play.

"I don't think we couldn't find a way around Santa Fe's approach: they scored two goals too early, and that was turning around a difficult situation," González analyzed before his complaint against the refereeing team.
David González's complaints against Andrés Rojas' refereeing "I have a lot of doubts about that first goal: I couldn't understand, hopefully someone could explain to me, why the line is drawn through the middle of the ball. That goal put us in a difficult situation, and the second, which in my opinion is also a foul, puts us way up. Then comes Daniel (Ruiz's) injury. It was a game where everything happened, where everything happened to us," González declared.

"That's it. We have to put our chest out, put our face forward, and apologize to our people. We all had that hope, and unfortunately, it couldn't be achieved," added the Antioquia coach.
González refused to be asked why the team was careless in the opening minutes, something that had already happened against Once Caldas and Boyacá Chicó.
"I don't agree with the comparison. The game against Once Caldas is a game that happens, not because someone came in sleepy. Today's play, which took place in the minute and a half, was our mistake, but I find it hard to believe we came in sleepy. In the 14 or 15 games we've kept a clean sheet, no one has told us, 'You came in well, you didn't come in sleepy,'" he noted.

"We have to take responsibility for what we're supposed to do. It was two of our mistakes that put the game way up our alley. When we're playing for a place in the final and we see the opponent kick a ball into our box, we probably have to be a little more alert and slow down the game," he insisted.
David González also complained about a question about the composition of the squad. González also rejected criticism of the roster and the management, starting with Gustavo Serpa. It's worth noting that this semester, the only new arrivals were Helibelton Palacios and Nicolás Giraldo, plus the return of Dewar Victoria from Patriotas.
"It's a shame you chose this press conference to ask me that question, because it puts me in a very awkward position. I find it in very poor taste. When things happen, we take advantage of it to bring down those we think are guilty. What this team managed to inspire in the fans was something beautiful. We started talking about fulfilling Tigre's dream, and we got on that bus," he began.

"I listen to you, and there's no way I can listen to you, I don't, but there were comments: how great it is that we have the new players, we have a great team, the future players of the Colombian National Team. If this had come to a happy ending, if we had managed to win the championship, you surely wouldn't have asked about Gustavo Serpa's performance. Surely players whose contracts are up will leave, others will want to look for opportunities, others will definitely come, but what I can assure you is that the team you saw in these 15 undefeated matches is the team you're going to see, the team that has been fighting to be champion since the first matchday. That's our only goal, to give that joy to the fans," he concluded.
