HP and Recupera Tu Silla promote ancestral education with books in the Iku language.

HP Inc. Colombia and the Recupera Tu Silla Foundation launched a new edition of the "Días Impresionantes" campaign, which this year aims to print and donate books in the Iku language to children in the Arahuaca community in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
The initiative will run from May 10 to June 15, 2025 , and focuses on promoting intercultural education and preserving ancestral knowledge.
The project arose in response to a letter sent by Professor Emiliano, a teacher from the Arahuaca community, who requested support in printing educational texts in the Iku language, his people's native language.
These books will enable children to learn to read and write in their native language , ensuring the transmission of traditional knowledge about nature, the land, and the indigenous worldview.
As part of the campaign, for every HP Smart Tank printer purchased during the promotional period, the company will print and donate books for this community. The content is designed not only for educational purposes but also to strengthen the connection with the environment and ancestral culture.
Since the beginning of their collaboration, HP and Recupera Tu Silla have delivered more than 1,200 school chairs made from recycled materials to regions such as La Guajira, Chocó, Meta, Vichada, Amazonas, and the Sierra Nevada itself. This joint effort aims to improve basic learning conditions, which are often limited by a lack of adequate furniture.
Sandra Hinestroza, general manager of HP Colombia, explained that the campaign is part of a broader effort to promote equitable access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities in historically excluded communities. The company seeks to combine technology and social purpose to close gaps and amplify the voices of Indigenous peoples.
Those who wish to support this cause can purchase an HP Smart Tank printer on the company's official website. The purchase automatically activates the book donation for the Arawakan community.
