A drone loaded with explosives was used to attack the Uriangato Public Security Secretariat (Video)

GUANAJUATO, Gto., (apro).- Explosive devices were launched on the morning of Friday the 11th at the headquarters of the Public Security Secretariat in Uriangato, a municipality in the south of the state, from a drone that was operated to fly over said facilities.
The municipal government, led by Juan Carlos Martínez Calderón of the PVEM (PVEM), stated that a device was launched and assured that no injuries or damage to facilities have been reported.
But another version from within the municipality itself states that two explosive devices were actually thrown at the facilities, and that shrapnel from one of them did hit a member of the preventive detention center, who suffered minor injuries.
This attack will be investigated as a terrorist act, municipal sources said.
"During the roll call, a drone was detected flying overhead, allegedly releasing a low-yield explosive device," the Urianga government said in a statement.
A video shows the exact moment the attack occurred at the Public Security headquarters on Juan Pablo Segundo Street in the Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood, around 8:14 a.m. A view of the building's courtyard can be seen, while some municipal police officers remain sheltered under a roof, looking up at the sky.
Moments later, a device is seen falling into the courtyard area and detonating.
Municipal sources reported that a second device was thrown near the parking area for the corporation's trucks. When it detonated on the ground, the fragments struck a police officer, who suffered some injuries that were not life-threatening.
The devices were reportedly homemade.
The municipality indicated that security protocols were immediately activated and that state security forces from the Ministry of Security, as well as federal forces, arrived to secure the facilities.
"It's important to emphasize that the event wasn't large-scale, but it's being handled with due seriousness and coordination," the municipal statement said.
Last November, the mayor's sister was the victim of an armed attack, being shot and wounded while walking down a city street. The municipality reported that it was an attempted robbery.
