The PRO and LLA agreed on their first names and await Karina Milei's green light.

Just days before the closing of the lists , the preparations between the PRO (Pro Party of the Nationalist Party) and La Libertad Avanza for the September 7 Buenos Aires elections have entered their final stretch. Negotiations have intensified with agreements in several sections, although names remain under discussion. The final decision depends on the endorsement of Karina Milei , Secretary General of the Presidency and a key figure in the decision-making process.
According to sources close to the organization, the technical committees of both parties agreed that Diego Valenzuela , mayor of Tres de Febrero, will head the list in the First Electoral Section , and Guillermo Montenegro , mayor of General Pueyrredón, will do the same in the Fifth Section . Both have regional support and visibility, which paved the way for their candidacies.
Valenzuela's presence didn't generate any major debate, as he is one of the most prominent figures in the metropolitan area. In Montenegro's case, although initial doubts arose about his decision to leave the Mar del Plata mayor's office, he ultimately gave his approval.
Had he withdrawn, the alternative candidate was Alejandro Carrancio , a Buenos Aires provincial deputy on leave and Sebastián Pareja's right-hand man, one of the main Libertarian party leaders in the province. However, the decision was ultimately made in favor of the current mayor.

One of the points that drew the most attention was Diego Santilli 's absence from the discussion regarding the First Section. Although he played an important role in forging the agreement between the two parties, everything indicates that he will be reserved for a national candidacy, ahead of the October 26 elections.
Meanwhile, in Tigre, Nicolás Scioli , the local leader of the La Libertad Avanza party , is seeking to position himself as a mayoral candidate. In a show of regional organization, he gathered 200 representatives and volunteers on Wednesday to move forward with the logistics of monitoring the district.
The deadline for submitting lists is this Friday night. Until then, discussions between the PRO and La Libertad Avanza will continue, although all moves are subject to the final approval of Karina Milei , who has the final say on the list. The definition of these candidacies will be key in the country's most important district, where the PRO and La Libertad Avanza are trying to consolidate their electoral alliance for September.
