The emotional tribute to the victims of the AMIA bombing with Patricia Bullrich as guest

On the eve of a new anniversary of the attack on the AMIA headquarters, national and provincial authorities participated this Thursday in a heartfelt tribute to the victims , within the framework of the National Meeting of the Internal Security Council . The activity took place at the Abasto Hotel in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA) and was jointly organized by the Latin American Jewish Congress (CJL) , the Ministry of National Security , headed byPatricia Bullrich , AMIA and DAIA .
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Security, ministers from the 24 provincial jurisdictions, heads of federal forces, representatives of local police forces, and leaders of Jewish community organizations. In her speech, Bullrich stated: "Monitoring and prevention must be ongoing. On the eve of the anniversary of the AMIA attack, we are working on issues that allow us to move beyond areas of impunity, such as trials in absentia."
"This was an attack against our country, and it is our responsibility to prevent it from happening again," said the head of the Security Ministry, who especially thanked the CJL for its support and reaffirmed the government's commitment to prevention: "We will continue working on new measures to prevent terrorism in our country," she maintained.
For his part, Claudio Epelman , executive director of the Latin American Jewish Congress, praised the ministry's call for action on such a significant date. "The fact that ministers from all provinces have joined demonstrates an active commitment to memory and prevention. The coordination between civil society organizations and the state is a key link in the chain of response to international terrorism," he emphasized.
The event was part of a working day that also included discussion of various topics related to terrorism prevention. This Friday marks the 31st anniversary of the attack on the Jewish mutual aid society, perpetrated on July 18, 1994 , at Pasteur Street 633, which left 85 dead and more than 300 injured .
Tomorrow marks the 31st anniversary of the AMIA bombing. Impunity lasted too long. While others were making deals with Iran, we pushed for the Trial in Absentia Law, got it passed, and the courts implemented it.
