"I am a tolerant and democratic president, but everything has a limit ," he expressed on his X account.

"We will continue to govern for the people, and that's why I'm telling all the pre-candidates and their coordinators: campaigning for officials is not permitted. If they want to campaign, they must resign."

David Collado supported him

In support of the presidential call, the Minister of Tourism , David Collado , reacted four minutes after the publication.

He reaffirmed that officials must refrain from proselytizing . "We will focus on our responsibilities and refrain from public proselytizing ," he said.

"As we have stated publicly and in practice , we are focused on our national and international agenda to continue positioning the Dominican Republic as a leader in the region and adding achievements and initiatives for the benefit of all," he added.

Political leader Guido Gómez Mazara joined the discussion, warning in a public letter about the risks facing the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) if it does not direct its internal processes within the framework of institutionality and respect for legal deadlines.

In a letter prior to Abinader's statements, addressed to PRM President Ignacio Paliza, Guido warned about anticipated proselytism .

"Disrespect for the rules paves the way for improvisation, internal anarchy, and a loss of credibility that could cost the PRM its moral foundation with the electorate," Gómez Mazara stated, without directly referring to any candidate.
